Company History
McCool Auctions was founded by Larry A. McCool in 1976. Prior to starting his tenure in the auction industry, he was a history teacher, federal indian agent, and always had a fascination with antiques. After liquidating the contents of his antique store "The Wilderness," as a self-taught auctioneer, he decided that he could make a living as an auctioneer. Over the years he developed McCool Auctions into a nationally known auction company, while conducting many record setting auctions. McCool Auctions has conducted countless auctions of significant antebellum and historical real estate, significant personal collections, estates, business inventories, industrial, commercial, machinery, farms and acreage, equipment, casinos, and more. The firms founder Larry McCool also served as the National Auctioneer Association President, Mississippi Auctioneer Association President, and established the Mississippi Auctioneer Commission.
As previously described, the McCool family comes from a deep history of successful auctions and the founder truly left a legacy to be carried on. It is our personal goal to carry on this tradition in applying these historically successful techniques, while pioneering current strategies and implementing new technologies. McCool Auctions has operated with honesty and integrity for over forty years and will continue hold these ideals imperative.
